Student mobility for traineeship – Incoming

Introduction

Erasmus+ enables students to gain valuable work experience by supporting traineeships abroad. The programme is open to students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Programme and Partner countries at Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral levels. These opportunities are also available to recent graduates, but only within Programme Countries.

Gaining international work experience helps develop cultural awareness and language skills, which can improve employability after graduation. Furthermore, working in a professional environment related to your field of study offers practical insights that complement academic learning in ways that seminars and workshops alone cannot provide.

By doing a traineeship abroad through Erasmus+, you can improve not only your communication, language and intercultural skills, but also develop key soft skills valued by future employers, while fostering initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to students enrolled at a higher education institution (HEI) holding an Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education for Programme Countries or at an HEI that has an Inter-institutional Agreement with University of Nova Gorica (UNG), for Partner Countries.

The traineeship must be relevant to your field of study.

Your university’s responsible contact (usually the Erasmus+ coordinator or a representative of the International office) must submit your nomination to UNG by the specified deadline. Nominations should be sent to international.office@ung.si.

Application

After your nomination for mobility at UNG, you will be required to complete an Application Form. Along with the completed and signed application form, you must submit:

  • a motivation letter,
  • CV,
  • a copy of your identification document (passport or ID),
  • language certificate.

You may also be invited to an interview.

Proficiency in English at a B1 level is mandatory for admission to the University of Nova Gorica (UNG).

Selection and Preparation

The acceptance notification will be sent to the email address provided in your application form. In addition, the head of the UNG organizational unit where you will undertake your traineeship will contact you to coordinate the work plan. Once the work plan is finalized, you can begin preparing the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.

Learning Agreement for Traineeships

The learning agreement must be agreed upon your home institution and the host organisation at UNG, and signed by both institutions as well as by you.

Important Note
An Erasmus+ traineeship at UNG is considered as full-time employment, comprising 40 hours per week. Traineeships with fewer than 40 hours per week are generally not accepted, unless agreed otherwise in advance.

Deadlines for Submission of Documents

Programme countries - 45 days before the start of the traineeship
