Mwinanu Makalicha, student of the MSc study programme Leadership in Open Education

The first time I learned about the Master’s in Leadership in Open Education (LOE) program was through a shared email. At the time, I was unfamiliar with both the program and the University of Nova Gorica. However, my curiosity led me to explore more about the program, and upon reviewing its curriculum, I immediately realised it was the perfect opportunity to support my aspirations as an open education leader in Namibia. The application process was seamless, and I deeply appreciate the prompt and professional support provided by the staff, which made the entire experience highly positive.
The program has been exceptionally impactful, with professors who are experts in their respective fields offering insights that are directly relevant to my professional work. Each course feels like a journey through a gallery of knowledge, expanding my understanding of open education and its practical applications. The program’s comprehensive structure integrates leadership, management, and cutting-edge technologies, making it both dynamic and transformative. Additionally, engaging with a diverse cohort of individuals from different backgrounds has enriched my learning experience, offering valuable perspectives and demonstrating the global potential of technology to revolutionise lives through open education.
The collaborative assignments and interactive chat features during lessons have made the learning process engaging, dynamic, and enjoyable. These elements foster a sense of community and make each session feel highly interactive and relevant. Additionally, the timely communication of examination dates well in advance has allowed me to plan and prepare effectively, reducing stress and ensuring a smoother academic experience.
I wish I could personally thank every individual contributing to this incredible journey, but I hope this message conveys my heartfelt gratitude. Enrolling in this program has truly been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am both impressed by and proud to be part of the Leadership in Open Education Class of 2023/24.
