UNG Student athlete testimonial: Katja Pivk

“Hi, I’m Katja and I’ve been a karting racer for 15 years. I’m a multiple national champion, cup winner and Central European champion. On finishing secondary school, I wasn’t sure how I’d be able to combine further studies with my sports career. School has always been my top priority and I have been doing my best to fulfil my study obligations, so that I can always take part in a race carefree. The student athlete status enables you that and I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that I could obtain this status at the university as well. It really helps student athletes to focus on their studies and sports at the same time. I am glad that at the University of Nova Gorica and at the School of Arts we are surrounded by great professors and other staff, who support us with our studies and our sports careers. I can’t wait for the beginning of the new academic and all new study and sports adventures.
