Workshops Energy storing
Time: Tuesday, 4th October 2022, 10:00–15:00
Location: University of Nova Gorica, premises of the Laboratory for Environmental and Life Sciences, Vipavska cesta 13, Rožna Dolina, SI-5000 Nova Gorica
Event description:
Despite the ever growing use of renewable energy sources, the energy from fossil fuels still dominates and represents a significant environmental issue. An increasing number of countries are using the electricity from renewable sources such as the wind, solar radiation, water currents … The renewable sources do have certain disadvantages like low efficiency and unreliability, as they depend on unstable natural conditions. Consequently, we should introduce hybrid systems, enabling constant access to electricity.
At the workshop about energy storing you will learn about various technologies for energy storing, such batteries, supercondensers and H2 technologies.
You are also kindly invited to the Open Day of the Laboratory for Environmental and Life Sciences, which will take place on the same day on the premises of the University's research laboratories at Rožna Dolina. At the event, you will learn about the daily activities of researchers and see the research equipment.
The event is suitable for all types of audience. Larger groups of visitors (over 10 people) must announce their visit advance to: anja.siher@ung.si
