University of Nova Gorica and UESTC Sign Cooperation Agreement

The agreement was signed by Prof. Matjaž Valant, Vice Rector for Sustainable Development and Technology at the University of Nova Gorica, and Prof. Xu Hongbing, Vice President of UESTC, on the sidelines of a meeting between representatives of Slovenian and Chinese higher education institutions focused on the green transition and the integration of education with industry.

The partnership between the two universities has already produced significant results. An affiliated professor and two postdoctoral researchers from the University of Nova Gorica have worked at UESTC. International exchanges under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme (2023–2026) have also played an important role in strengthening ties between the institutions, enabling eight staff exchanges and five doctoral student exchanges to date.

Joint research activities have resulted in numerous notable achievements. Researchers from both universities have co-authored more than twenty scientific papers published in leading international journals, including Nature Communications, Small, Advanced Functional Materials, and ACS Energy Letters.

The new agreement opens up opportunities for even closer cooperation in student and researcher exchanges, the implementation of joint research projects, and the preparation of scientific publications.
