A film by Urška Djukić, an alumna of the University of Nova Gorica School of Art, is an Oscar award candidate
The film Little Trouble Girls by the film director Urška Djukić, a former postgraduate student and now Assistant professor at the University of Nova Gorica School of Art, has been selected as the Slovenian Oscar award candidate for year 2025 in the category of the best international film.
The film was made by the SPOK production, the producers are Jožko Rutar and Miha Černec, while the main co-financer is the Slovenian film centre.
A professional committee of the Association of Slovenian film makers has pointed out in its proposal that the film, with its intimate yet universal story, opens up the significant issues concerning the human body, identity and the process of man’s growing up; it enchants with its exceptional visual image, a sophisticated mix of music and sound and a supreme symbolic language.
The University of Nova Gorica is proud of this achievement, it confirms the quality of the creative work of our students and graduated students as they continue to make important contributions to Slovenian and international film art.
