Head of the Center for Information Technologies and Applied Mathematics (m/f/o)

Centre for systems and information technologies and applied mathematics (CITUM) at the University of Nova Gorica houses an interdisciplinary research group that operates at the intersection of computer science, information science, mathematics, systems management technologies and process engineering. It develops new approaches to modelling and applies them to a variety of fields, from biomedicine to education and industry. It also develops methods for intelligent data analysis and tests them in areas in which IT support is key to uncovering new knowledge.

We are seeking a new colleague motivated by the challenge of forming and leading their own research group. We can offer a dynamic research environment with a focus on involvement in international research.

The head of the centre will also have the opportunity to teach students at all three Bologna study levels, for example at the School of engineering and management, School of Environmental Sciences, School of Science, Graduate School and others.

To be considered for the position, you should:
* have a doctorate in the field covered by the centre;
* meet the requirements for leading research projects;
* have good organisational and leadership skills;
* have at least five years’ work experience;
* have a knowledge of Slovenian and English to C1 level.

The employment contract will be for full-time working hours for a fixed term of four years, with the possibility of reappointment. Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to submit extended details of their vision for the development of the centre.
