Assistant with PhD in the field of Materials (m/f/o)
The University of Nova Gorica is offering position of assistant with PhD in the filed of Materials.

This position is available to candidates interested in pursuing a research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and strong involvement in international research.
Research activities will take place at the Materials Research Laboratory. The selected candidate will be involved in research work in the field of layered hydroxides for energy storage and conversion. The work will include the synthesis of metal hydroxides and metal hydroxide-based composites, and the characterization of their structural and functional properties.
In accordance with the election, the candidate will also assume teaching responsibilities at the study programs of the University of Nova Gorica, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Viticulture and Enology, and Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
Application requirements:
- PhD in materials science or related sciences,
- knowledge and experience with the synthesis and characterization of materials,
- bility to work independently with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD),
- excellent knowledge of English and Slovenian language.
The expected start date is October 1, 2025, or by agreement. The employment relationship will be full-time, 40 hours per week, for a fixed period of two years.
