Letter from the Rector of UNG to the President of the European Commission Regarding the Exclusion of Israel from the Horizon Europe Programme

Following a decision by the Senate of the University of Nova Gorica, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Boštjan Golob, today sent a letter to the President of the European Commission, Dr. Ursula von der Leyen, requesting support for the exclusion of the State of Israel from all activities within the Horizon Europe programme. A copy of the letter was also sent, for information, to the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Ms. Marta Kos.

The decision of the Senate of the University of Nova Gorica followed a discussion among the rectors of Slovenian universities, initiated on 25 July this year by the Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Gregor Majdič, and the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Boštjan Golob.
