Postdoctoral associate or assistant professor in the field of photothermal spectroscopy and instrumentation (m/f/o)
The University of Nova Gorica has an open position for postdoctoral associate or assistant professor in the field of photothermal spectroscopy and instrumentation.

This position is available to candidates interested in pursuing a research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and a strong involvement in international research.
Research activities will take place at theLaboratory for Environmental and Life sciences (LELS) on the project: “Development of the laser based techniques for advanced material characterization”. In accordance with their appointment, the successful candidate will also take on teaching duties for materials characterization and analytical instrumental techniques in selected study programmes at the university.
Candidates are expected to:
- have a PhD degree in the field of physics, chemistry, materials science or related fields,
- have good command of the English language,
- preferably have had previous research experience abroad.
We are looking for an experienced scientist with a strong theoretical background and practical experience in the fields of: organic, inorganic and hybrid synthesis, laser spectroscopy, mathematical modelling and material characterization (supported by original scholarly publications). Experience in photothermal spectroscopy and instrumentation is desirable.
Candidates for the position of assistant professor must have the appropriate habilitation or should meet the conditions for holding the rank of assistant professor or equivalent according to the rules of the University of Nova Gorica.
The position will be available as soon as the selection process is completed. The selected candidate will be appointed for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Employment is offered as a full-time position.
