On Monday, 2 March, 2015, the University of Nova Gorica (the building in Rožna Dolina) hosted the opening of a touring exhibition titled Biogenic Formations in the Slovenian Sea. The exhibition was organized by the Marine Biological Station and the University of Nova Gorica.

"THE BIOGENIC FORMATIONS IN THE SLOVENIAN SEA" Exhibition

The exhibition featured eight posters which showed the results of the TRECORALA project.

The purpose of this project, which is funded by the Cross-border Slovenia-Italy collaboration Program 2007-2013 (part of the European Fund for regional development, and there is national funding involved, too) is to improve the knowledge of and sustainable handling of rock formations in the Gulf of Trieste. The exhibition will be open for visitors for three weeks, later on, it will move to the building of the National Biology Institute in Ljubljana. Admission is free of charge. We really want to address and attract a large public, as we would like people to get to know the riches of the marine habitats and the importance of sustainable management of valuable sea resources.

The exhibition is open for visitors from Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 6 pm (the building is closed on Saturdays and Sundays).
