Presentation of the modernized device for the continuous casting of steel

On Friday, March 31, 2006, the presentation of the modernized device for the continuous casting of steel was held at Izobraževalni center Štore in Teharje. The device, which represents a product resulting from successful joint efforts of science and industry, was presented by the experts from the Laboratory for Multiphase Processes of Nova Gorica Polytechnic, the company Ates from Slovenska Bistrica and from the Technical Development Project Team of the company Štore Steel.
The presentation was attended by Dr. Jure Zupan, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology; Dr. Boštjan Žekš, Provost of Nova Gorica Polytechnic and President of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts; as well as by Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik, President of Nova Gorica Polytechnic.
The company Štore Steel started modernizing the caster device in 1997. The Project Team was coordinated by Gojko Manojlović from Štore Steel. Research activities related to the information of the caster device were carried out by Dr. Božidar Šarler, Head of Laboratory for Multiphase Processes of Nova Gorica Polytechnic. An interdisciplinary team of researchers from the Technical Development Team of the company Štore Steel, the Laboratory for Multiphase Processes of Nova Gorica Polytechnic and the company Ates from Slovenska Bistrica was also involved in the modernization process of the continuous caster device.
